How do I delete an embed?

Ensure you are logged in, and visit the customize tab for the document you would like to delete. Click the delete button in the upper right hand corner of the page.

You can also delete embeds directly from your my embeds page by clicking the X in the upper right hand corner of the embed.

Please be sure to delete the embed code from your website.

Can I use embedit.in with private documents?

On the customization screen, you can designate an embed private. Private embeds to not appear on the embedit.in website to the general public.

If you would like to control the distribution of a document, you can restrict download, print and copy/paste options for the embed on the customize page.

For the most sensitive documents, the embedit.in API includes an option to restrict embeds codes to only render on a given website.

How does annotation work?

If you want to call out certain sections of your document, use embedit.in's red pen and highlighter to annotate the document before you publish it. On the customize screen, click Start drawing, and move your mouse over the document. You will see a red pen you can use for freeform annotation. Move your mouse over text to get a highlighter tool. Your annotations are automatically saved as you draw, and the erase button removes all annotation from your embed.

embedit.in does not support viewers adding their own markup to the embed. To have readers mark up and leave feedback on documents, you may want to link to the document on Backboard.

What if I want to automate the embedding process?

embedit.in has a full API. Check it out!

Do I have to create embeds for each of my documents on a page?

If you already have a web page with several links to documents, Sitewide may be the option for you! Sitewide generates a single line of code that you paste into the bottom of your page that turns all of your document links into embeds.
